Everest Hiking

Everest Hiking Everest hiking is one the favorite hiking destinations in Nepal. Hiking in Everest is a great opportunity; you can discover the great views of Himalayas including Mt. Everest within short duration. The fascinating hike to Everest, which takes you into the heart of the over 8000 meters mountains and provides awe-inspiring views of many of the world’s highest and most stunning mountains. Everest hiking offers unique Sherpa culture and traditions. The hike to Everest view hotel which is the highlights of this trip offers spectacular views of Thamserku, Ama Dabalam, Lhotse, Nutse and Mt. Everest, the tallest mountains in the world.

Everest hiking commences in the vibrant city of Kathmandu, where you would be able to explore some historical palaces and world heritage sites. Following day, scenic flight from Katmandu to Lukla is another unforgettable experience. The flight is a bit scary but provides a wonderful experience. As soon as we land at Lukla, a tiny mountain airstrip we start our hike walking on a pleasant trail to Phakding. Our next destination is Namche Bazaar. We hike toward Namche passing Sherpa villages, Mani walls, crossing the suspension bridges over the Bhote Koshi River, and walking via Sagarmatha national park. Namche is a heart land of Sherpa country and trading center too. There is a colorful market every Saturday.  After hiking to Everest view hotel, we retrace our trail to Lukla and fly back to Kathmandu.

Everest Hiking – itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1350m).
Arrive at Kathmandu Airport, meet one of our trek leaders and transfer to hotel. Free for rest and refreshment, in the evening join the welcome dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant with live culture show. Overnight at hotel.  

Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu valley.
After breakfast, meet your tour guide who is standing in the lobby, he will give you a short briefing about today’s plan, start sightseeing of Kathmandu valley visiting Boudha Nath, Pashupatinath and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla (2880m), hike to Phakding (2640m), 4hrs hiking.
After early breakfast, we transfer to airport for our exciting and scenic flight to Lukla. This is a small town with an airport. There are few tea shops, lodges, hotels and general stores. We start our hiking to Phakding passing Chaurikharka Village, and make a descent towards the Dudhkosi Ghat (2,530m). The hiking trail follows the precise bank of the Dudhkosi River until the camp at Phakding (2,640m) is reached. This day we just have short hike and will rest for whole day. Little acclimatize day. Overnight at guest house.  

Day 04: Hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3445m), 5 to 6 hrs hiking. 
After breakfast, we begin our pleasant hike to Namche bazaar through villages, jungles and beautiful farm terraces. The world famous Namche Bazaar (3445m) is surrounded on three sides by mountain ranges and opens out only where it faces the Bhote Koshi. Stay overnight at guest house in Namche Bazaar.

Day 05: A day for exploring Namche Bazaar (3445m).
This day is important day for us since we walk up to Khhumjung village where we can visit a monastery. We can also enjoy the splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, Thamserku, Nuptse, Lhotse, Tawche, Kwangde and so on. Also we can take an hour's hike up to Syangboche (3800m.) where Everest View Hotel is situated above Namche for outstanding views of Everest, Nuptse, Lhotse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and Kusum Kangaru. Stay overnight at guest house in Namche Bazaar.

Day 06: Hike from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2880m), 6 to 7 hrs hiking.
Our trek leads us from Namche Bazaar via Monjo to Lukla. The trek is pleasant, except for few short uphill climbs and then down to the Bhote- Koshi River crossing it three times. The last uphill climb of 45 minutes will bring us to Lukla for our overnight stay.

Day 07: Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu takes 35 minutes.
After breakfast, we walk to airport at Lukla, take a 35 minute scenic flight to Kathmandu. Upon your arrival at domestic airport, you will be transferred by your guide to hotel. Rest of the time will be on your own till evening, one of our team leaders will come to meet you in the evening and take you for a farewell dinner at a typical Nepali restaurant to celebrate your great Everest hiking. Overnight at hotel.

Day 08: Final departure.
After breakfast, transfer to airport for your flight back to home. Wish you have a safe and sound flight and hope to see you again in the future!
