Lower Mustang trek - Lower Mustang trek easy short trek good for first time trekkers

Lower Mustang trek is one of the comfortable and easiest treks in Mustang region to experience unique culture and monumental landscape and some holy religious sites including Muktinath, Kagbeni and other monasteries long the way. Lower Mustang trek passes through world’s deepest river gorge in Kail Gandaki River. The trail leads through Kail Gandaki River bank where a number of mules can be seen carrying loads on their back. This river is famous for Saligram which is supposed to be the forms of Hindu God the Vishnu. The river has the world’s deepest river gorge and important for its sacredness.

Lower Mustang trek

Lower Mustang trekking includes ancient village of Marpha, Jomsom and Kagbeni to be explored then the trail goes to Muktinath which is very sacred site with Hindu temple as well Buddhist monastery for Hindu and Buddhist followers. Trekking from Muktinath to Kagbeni village is wonderful experience passing through white mud painted houses experiencing untouched culture of the Musthagi People.  The return trail to Jomsom where the trip is end is a bit windy and sandy but the stunning view of Nilgiri is rewarding the journey.

Lower Mustang trekking is easy adventure with full of opportunities to explore, it does not require any trekking or hiking experience to walk on this trail, but you should be fit and healthy.  This trek also gives you an opportunity to explore and experience the traditional life style of Nepalese high mountain shelters.

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing of Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive to Pokhara.
Day 04: Trek to Ulleri.
Day 05: Trek to Ghorepani
Day 06: Trek to Tatopani.
Day 07: Trek to Gasa.
Day 08: Trek to Tukche.
Day 09: Trek to Jomsom.
Day 10: Trek to Muktinath.
Day 11: Trek to Kagbeni.
Day 12: Trek to Jomsom.
Day 13: Fly to Pokhara.
Day 14: Fly or drive to Kathmandu.
Day 15: Final transfer to international airport.

Lower Mustang trek - itinerary

Day 01: Arrive at Kathmandu airport, meet of our trek leaders and transfer to hotel. Overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Breakfast, rest day or sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley. Overnight at hotel.

Day 03: Drive or fly to Pokhara, if bus drives it will take 6 hours to reach Pokhara, if by flight it is a 30 minutes scenic flight. Overnight at hotel.

Day 04: Breakfast at hotel, transfer to New Bridge and start trek from here to Ulleri. Overnight at guest house.

Day 05: Trek from Ulleri to Ghorepani, 5 hours, overnight at guest house.

Day 06: Sunrise trip to Poon Hill, back to guest house, pack your things, have a breakfast then trek down to Tatopani. Overnight at guest house.

Day 07: Trek from tatopani to Gasa. Overnight at guest house.

Day 08: Trek from Gasa to tukche. Overnight at guest house.

Day 09: Trek from Tukche to Jomsom. Overnight at guest house.

Day 10: Trek from Jomsom to Muktinath. Overnight at guest house.

Day 11: Trek back from Muktinath to Kagbeni. Overnight at guest house.

Day 12: Trek back to Jomsom. Overnight at guest house.

Day 13: Early flight to Pokhara, sightseeing around Pokhara valley. Overnight at hotel.

Day 14: Fly back to Kathmandu or extend your trip to Chitwan National park. Overnight hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 15: Final transfer to Kathmandu airport and fly back home.
