Annapurna Base Camp Trek, a dream I had for 20 years
My husband and I went to Nepal in February 2016. Since I waited for this trip for 20 years I really wanted to do it the best way. We decided to trek the Annapurna Base Camp for 7 days. This trip involves walking 4-5 hours a day and takes you along the Himalayan Range of mountains. We started with warm weather and eventually faced rain, ice, and snow. Taking a guide with us was the best idea. The trek starts in Pokhara, a lovely city 6 hours away by bus from Kathmandu. It has a peaceful lake and a Temple (Peace Stupa) on top of a mountain. Nearby, you can visit the Tibetan Refugees Camps, where Tibetan monks and other citizens try to make a life away from home. There are many good agencies in Kathmandu, I can recommend the one I chose: Alpine Eco Trek and Expedition (www.alpineecotrek.com) Ram was extremely helpful helping us to organize our trip via email and providing a guide and helper (Ram Gopal and Amit) who were polite, helpful, answered all our questions during the trek and never let us down. I will never forget the blue skies and clear air of Annapurna.

Amazing experience – 7 days Annapurna base camp trek
We started our trip to the Annapurna region from Pokhara, the city of lakes. It was indeed a beautiful city. From Pokhara, we had to drive till Dhampus Phedi, from where our trek started. The rugged terrain and rural villages welcomed us as we started trekking. Upon arriving at Chhomrong, we could see the mesmerizing Annapurna ranges including Mount Fishtail and Annapurna South. The trails were more of an uphill climb after staying a night at Chhomrong. Crossing suspension bridges above the gushing waters and walking through the lush rhododendron forests was a mesmerizing experience. Continuing our journey to the Himalaya Hotel and Machhapuchhre Base Camp, all we could see was the clear, breath-taking views of the snowy peaks right in front of us. When we finally reached Annapurna Base Camp, we stood there spellbound as we viewed the stunning and majestic Annapurna peaks. Deciding to trek to the Machhapuchhre Base Camp and Annapurna Base Camp was one of the best decisions we ever made. With the glorious views of the peaks such as Machhapuchhre, Gangapurna, Himchuli, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, and Annapurna III, our journey was a blissful experience. Thanks to Ram and Alpine Eco Trek team for your friendly and outstanding services. We will definitely recommend 7 days Annapurna Base Camp trek to our friends.
