8 Days Everest Trek Difficulty and Physical Fitness

The short and easy trek to the Everest viewpoint is a family-friendly trip that does not go too high, the maximum altitude of the trek is 3800 meters. We have organized this trek even for the groups traveling with kids aged 5 years and above. They enjoyed the hike thoroughly. But, the second day’s hike from Phakding to Namche Bazaar is a bit long and challenging as the trails from Monjo to Namche are quite steep and get higher altitudes too.

For this part, some of our clients who felt it hard had hired a horse and rode all the way from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. Even though, it is a short and easy trek you are required to be in good shape to do this 8 days Everest trek.

With professional guidance from our crew, anyone with a reasonably fit can go on this trek. Previous trekking or hiking experience is not required.

Best Season for 8 Days Everest Hiking Tour

Autumn (last September to November) and Spring (mid-March to mid-May) are the best seasons to go on the Everest trek. The weather will be warm and clear with spectacular views. If you want to avoid the rush time and crowds then winter (December to February) will be an ideal time to go on this trek. However, the cold weather makes trekking at this time of the season difficult for many people.

If you love to see different kinds of flowers, the summer season will be perfect for you to trek in this region to explore the rare flora. Where monsoon (late May to mid-September) makes everything unclear and slippery and a flight to Lukla is always uncertain during this time of year.

Accommodations during the Trek

Our package includes accommodation in Kathmandu in a standard hotel (3 to 4 stars) with breakfast and tea/coffee. Kathmandu has a wide range of hotels, especially in Thamel, a tourist hub, there are many hotels, guesthouses, lodges, and resorts available. You ought to let us know if you want to upgrade your accommodation in Kathmandu.

During the Everest trek, we will provide you with mountain lodges on a full-board basis. On the first day of our hike, we will stay at Phakding where there are several lodges available with great facilities such as cozy rooms with attached bathrooms, a Wi-Fi facility, and comfortable beds with clean bedsheets and warm blankets.

The lodges serve delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The next day we hike to Namche Bazaar where we can find even better lodges with a handful of choices. One of the best accommodations in Namche is the Hotel Namche, you can read reviews for this hotel on Tripadvisor too, their service is excellent, and rooms are very comfortable with attached bathrooms and room heaters. You will stay for two nights in this town.

Namche Bazaar is also known as a mini Kathmandu, where you can find everything from luxury lodges to German bakeries, cafes, bars, bookshops to gear shops, and many more.

Meals and Drinking Water during Trek

In Kathmandu, our package includes accommodation with breakfast and tea/coffee. You can enjoy your everyday breakfast at any time from 6:30 AM to 10 AM.

During the Everest trek, our package includes meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and accommodations. Meals during the trek will be mostly authentic Nepalese dishes like rice, curry, lentil, vegetable, spicy pickles, curd, plain Chapatti and etc Other cuisines like continental, Tibetan and Indian are also available. These meals will be served as per the menu of the lodge.

Besides that you can buy bars, bread, cookies, and hot chocolates, extra on the trail on your own but, remember as the elevation gets higher, the cost also gets high. In Kathmandu, we will offer a farewell dinner at the end of the trip to celebrate the grand success of your great journey.

Regarding drinking water, the hotel in Kathmandu provides 2 liters of mineral water everyday basis which is included in the package.

During the trek, drinking water can be easily found everywhere, every next hour you can buy pure and safe drinking water from the teashops and guesthouses. Also, you can get hot water from the lodges and fill in your bottle every time it gets empty. So, do carry a reusable water bottle with you.

We request you to not buy mineral water bottles (plastic) on the way as it will help in preserving the nature of this beautiful region. Moreover, you can also carry water purifier tablets or SteriPen with you to purify the water.
