TIMS Cards and Trekking Permits in Nepal

Do I need a TIMS card while trekking in Annapurna, trekking in Manaslu and trekking in Langtang, Nepal? Yes, you need a TIMS card to enter these regions but you do not need a TIMS card for the Everest Base Camp treks in the Everest region. For the Acap, Mcap and Langtang National park, there are two types of TIMS cards: Green and Blue. The green one is for individual trekkers which cost USD 20 per person and you need to go to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) office to buy one for yourself.

The blue one is known as the group TIMS card which cost USD 10 per person and only licensed trekking agencies like us can get this card for you. If you are doing a group trek but still, want to buy the blue card on your own (paying USD 10 each), then we need to provide you with a letter that is an assurance letter from our company to NTB (TIMS Permit office) saying that you are going to trek with our company’s guides and porters, without doubt, you will get a blue card with this letter.
