Ghandruk village Trek Overview
Ghandruk village trek is one of the prettiest and ideal treks in the Annapurna region for those who wish to do a three-day trek in Nepal on a comfortable trail and enjoy the finest mountain sceneries.
Ghandruk village cultural trek begins after one and a half hours of drive from Pokhara and ascends through the hill villages after crossing the suspension bridge at Modi Khola River. We then climb past the river valleys and farm terraces to the ethnic Gurung village of Ghandruk. The mountain views from Ghandruk are superb.
In the next two days, we pass through excellent viewpoints at Landruk and Pothana, and Deurali, walk through lovely forests and visit some picturesque hill villages and finally end the trek at Phedi.
Ghandruk village family trek is short, easy, and can be done all through the year even in summer. Average walking is four to six hours, the highest point is only 2000m and there is no risk of altitude sickness. Even those traveling with children or elderly trekkers can enjoy this trip very much. You will sleep and eat at mountain lodges called tea houses and your luggage is carried by our porter.

On the first day of our hike, we will stay at Ghandruk village where there are several nice lodges available with great facilities including cozy rooms with attached bathrooms, Internet Wi-Fi, comfortable beds with neat and clean bedsheets and warm blankets. The lodge’s restaurant serves delicious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner). The next day, we hike from Ghandruk to Pothana where we can find the same kind of lodge facilities as we enjoyed at a lodge in Ghandruk village. The lodges in Pothana provide a breathtaking view of the prettiest Mountains Annapurna South and Himchuli.

In Kathmandu and Pokhara, our trek package includes a room with breakfast and tea/coffee. You can enjoy every day’s breakfast at any time from 6:30 AM to 10 AM at our hotel. During the Ghandruk Village trek, the package includes meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) and lodge accommodations. Meals during the trek will be mostly the authentic Nepalese dishes like rice, curry, lentil, vegetable, spicy pickles, curd, plain chapatti and etc. Other cuisines like continental, Tibetan and Indian are also available. These meals will be served as per the menu of the lodge. Besides that you can buy bars, bread, cookies, and hot chocolates, extra on the trail on your own but, remember as the elevation gets higher, the cost also gets high. In Kathmandu, we will offer a farewell dinner at the end of the trip to celebrate the grand success of your great journey.
Regarding the drinking water, hotels in Kathmandu and Pokhara provide 2 liters of mineral water on an everyday basis which is included in the package. During the Ghandruk Village trek, drinking water can be easily found everywhere, every next hour you can buy pure and safe drinking water from the teashops and lodges. Also, you can get hot water from the lodges and fill in your bottle every time it gets empty. So, do carry a reusable water bottle with yourself.
