Gosainkunda with Helambu Trek
Gosainkunda with Helambu trek is a perfect choice for those trekkers who wish to explore the sheer beauty of Nepali nature, discover traditional and fascinating villages and see the lush rhododendron forests. Situated just north of Kathmandu, this trek is close to the capital and easily accessible without a flight. This is one of the most magnificent treks in Langtang and Helambu region.
This amazingly beautiful trek through Gosainkunda with Helambu begins with a scenic eight to nine-hour drive from Kathmandu. We spend our first night in a mountain lodge in Dhunche from where our trek truly begins. We begin following a very pleasant trail, which takes us through terraced farmlands, traditional Tamang villages, lush and full rhododendron forests, and gorgeous alpine pastures. We will encounter the world-famous Gosainkunda Lake, which provides eye-catching views of the snowy peaks and tranquil lake. It is said that if we are to take a dip into the Gosainkunda Lake, skin diseases and knowingly committed sins will be erased.
After crossing the stunning Laurebina la Pass (4,600m), the Gosainkunda with Helambu trek enters to the Helambu region. This is a fascinating trekking area that will immerse you into the unique Sherpa culture. The region also provides awe-inspiring mountain peaks. Taking us through lush forests, terrace farming villages, and a picturesque trail that ends near Kathmandu valley, this trek is one the most breathtaking treks in the Langtang and Helambu region.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu airport, one of our trek leaders will greet you and transfer to hotel. Free for rest and refreshment, evening join the welcome dinner at a typical restaurant with live culture show. Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast, we start our trek from Dhunche to Sing Gompa, walking on a pleasant trail enjoying the beautiful villages and local landscapes we reach Sing Gompa. Overnight at a lodge.

The trail to Lauribina Yak is steep up and continues for three hours. Then the trail becomes much narrow and misty as well as change in vegetation too as the green vegetation becomes much deserted and rocky. We reach Gosainkunda Lake where we will spend our overnight at a lodge.

Place: Sing Gompa to Gosainkunda Lake
After exploring around at Gosainkunda and holy dip into the Lake, we set for another day's walk. The walk goes through a steep trail for three hours and crosses an amazing Lauribina La pass at 4600m and the trail is too rocky. After the pass the trail becomes to descend and the slope continues for about three hours and reaches to Ghopte. Overnight at a lodge.

The trail from Ghopte to Tharepati continues through the forest of pine and juniper about 4 hour's slope up to Thadepati. Overnight at a lodge.

From Tharepanti, a short and steep descent through mixed fir and rhododendron forest rich with bird life. Crashing waterfalls sound from the rocky gullies below as we approach Melamchi Gaon. Overnight at a lodge.

The trail descends steeply to the valley floor, where we can have a well earned dip in the crystal- clear river before completing the short and mild ascent up the other side of the valley. Tarkegyang boasts an 18th century Gompa with huge brass prayer wheel. Overnight at a lodge.

A flat pleasant trail to Shermathang, this is an interesting Sherpa village and they will be happy to introduce themselves that they are different from the Sherpa of Khumbu (Everest region) In the clear day the villages provide good views of Ganesh Himal, Langtang, Gosainkunda and Rolwaling, even Everest also in a distance. Overnight at a lodge.

Today the trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Pul Bazaar through meadows and cultivated fields. On the way, we come across several old villages. With the spectacular Mountain View, we will get to interact with local and friendly people. Drive back to Kathmandu by bus or private vehicle. Overnight at hotel.
