Kakani Hiking is the most popular hiking destination in Nepal for both exotic and domestic hikers. This hike is also popular among student groups. This is one of the best and nearest hiking places from the capital city of Kathmandu. Kakani hiking provides wonderful views of terrace farming lands, villages, green hills, and snow-capped peaks including Langtang ranges.
Kakani hiking is also suitable for those nature and bird watcher groups. Family with children is a wonderful place to hike. Easy access, comfortable resorts, and good food with good views this hike is good for all seasons. About 20 km north of Kathmandu, Kakani is also famous for mountain biking trips. From here, you can also see the beautiful view of the Kathmandu Valley. Kakani is also possible to make a day trip from Kathmandu valley.

After breakfast, drive from Kathmandu to Kakani which takes about one and half hours. A trip to Kakani along the beautiful highway of Trisuli Road is scenically rewarding with green forest and mountains grandeur in one direction and fertile river flats and terraces cultivation. Kakani is famous for the magnificent view over Kathmandu Valley and the north-western Himalayas ranges against the vastness of the sky. The fabulous area of Kakani features attractions ranging from beautiful alpine scenery to the magnificent Himalayan Panorama particularly the Ganesh Himal massif along with Langtang ranges. Visa for Nepal, you can obtain a visa easily upon your arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu. Please kindly bring two passport size photos and passport copy along with you. (Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 30 days can be obtained by paying USD 40 or equivalent foreign currency. Similarly, Tourist Visa with Multiple Entry for 90 days can be obtained by paying USD100.
